MARVIN AND CATHIE STEPPING OUT

Had an email from Cathie with pictures attached. One picture is of Cathie and marvin at the Easter Parade of the Hat Ladies in Charleston on April 15 and the other was when they attended a Medical function at Roper hospital. Made my day to see how much progress Marvin and Cathie have made with the untold hours of hard work and our combined prayers. If you are as impressed as I was drop them a comment on the blog or a call and let them know you Love them.

Falling down and getting up!.

On Tuesday morn as I attempted to get down the stairs to give Marvin his morning meds, I took a tumble. After a brief stay in the Roper Emg room and many x-rays I was allowed home with the help of Dean Kemper (acting pastor of Harbor View) and Bill Simpson (acting big brother and spiritual advisor). We had a series of calls that informed us that my insurance had not been paid by MArvin's old office but, hay, of late God has not made the road easy. At least it is a road.
As we find ways to work with the insurance and put back the tooth I knocked out, we met Cassandra Wright. She has been sent by the VA and Marvin says God to help us each day with feeding bathing and muscle movement. TODAY: Marka and Cassandra balanced Marvin while he placed both hands on his walker and STOOD! For 15 sec. he was there and upright looking into my face and the mirror! Talk about resurrection on a Maundy Thursday! Marka reminds me to keep the important things in front and let the house worries go. We need this moment to rejoice because the last two weeks have been such a torment. We covet your prayers and your visits and cards. Our church has been a life line. Your prayers and this moment of standing will give Marvin that much needed boost to keep on with his leg and arm work!
Happy Resurrection Sunday

April 2 No fool'in

Marvin is home and he is able to use his right hand to operate his chair! He is happy to be home with family and friends and home cooked meals. Thank you to so many who called and to Bill who visited him in Augusta. He went to an ice hockey game while at the VA and said the hight light was watching his therapist try to play skate board hockey! We have hopes to getting more therapy at home with the VA so that his progress can continue. I have out-patient surgery tomorrow so we shall be out of commission for abit.
Progress is slow but it is progress! Please pray for us to have the needed patience as it is so hard to watch Marvin struggle with his movements.
Thank you for your support and love. I don't feel alone in this struggle and your concern and smiles mean so much.
God Bless
Cathie
