Home@Last, Home@Last Thank God

With apologies to M.L. King we have the Big Dog home. I took him by a friend's beauty school for a cut and pedicure and then home on Friday. Great friends from the church came by to help us get in and unpack the boxes of supplies!! We have had two nights now @ home and Marvin has slept fairly well with only a few glitches. He is on more meds than I ever imagined but we hope to pare them down abit. I gave him too much blood pressure med this morn and he has been unable to get up because of the low pressure. I guess that is one way to learn. He is getting back some of his humor and spirit that had been so low these past hospitalized months. Friends are calling or coming by for a visit so he is aware that he was missed. As he says"It is just great to be home .Enough is enough!"
Thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and support. We can not thank you enough and hope to pass on to another some of the same caring that has been given us.

A Happier Valentine's Day

I talked w/ Marvin tonight and his voice was much clearer and he sounded upbeat. I will see him tomorrow and start packing his room for the return to Charleston on friday. I hope we can get home before too late so that some of you can be here to greet him. He is so thin and frail but God willing, he can gain strength and weight with time. This has been more difficult than I ever thought it would be and I thank God for all of you who have been beside us in this journey. I knew I was praying for a miracle when I asked God to save him. I just didn't know how big it would have to be. God is in the small things and also in the BIG.
Blessings

Marvin still at VA

Marvin developed pneumonia last Thursday night and I got the news when I went to pick him up to go home. He was so sad that he was ready to go AMA but decided against it as he needed antibiotics. I left him around 6:00 tonight Tuesday to check on the house and get things ready to bring him home once more on Friday 16th.
He is so very weak. He weights only 137 lbs and has lost nearly 20lbs since the first of January. He has not been allowed to have anything by mouth since the 10th of January and is now being fed thru a tube in his small intestine. I believe that we can get him back to his strength level before the surgery with some great "church food" and the help of a trainer who I have asked to take on the job. It will be a slow process but Marvin is a Citadel man and as such has had experience with little or no food!! I tell him of your calls and wishes for his recovery and of the prayers that are sent his way. It is then that I see his eyes shine the most. Thank you for continuing to pray with us and ask for healing. " All things are possible with God who strengthens me"

MARVIN MAY GET TO COME HOME

Cathie called last evening and let me know that Marvin is making some progress. The word is that if all goes well for the rest of the week he may get to come home on Friday Evening. They probably will not leave Augusta until 6PM and will get into Charleston around Nine PM. The down side is that both Mandy and Trey are out of town and Cathie and Marvin will be all alone when they arrive. So if you are close by they could surely use a little help getting him in the house and bed. If anything changes I will post more on the blog.
