Thursday Feb 23

Marvin has had a set-back in his journey to health. For two weeks now he has had spasms that have made his body quite rigid. This had made it very difficult to move his arms and legs and keep working with his rehabiltation. Thursday Feb 16 I took him to the emergency room because the spasms were so strong that the tube in his chest that had been used for feeding him liquid protein supplements was expelled by the force. The next day he was admitted to the VA hosp. for observation and treatment for an infection. Many tests but little info from them later, Marvin was sent by ambulance to the VA in Augusta for a work-up and I brought him home on Wed night. We still don't know what has caused this problem. He is tired from little rest and stiff muscles but happy to be home.
We do need your prayers for his recovery and efforts to continue his arm and leg movement. He has come so far and this set-back has been difficult for all of us. God willing he will soon be back to his exercises and attempts to stand.
Thank you to all who have called and prayed with us. You are so important to his recovery.
God Bless you all

Feb 1st

Right now I working with electrical stimulation to try and strenghten muscle groups. I continue a routine of daily exercises to increase range of motion and endurance. A dietitian from VA visited yesterday and thought I looked good and had a good diet plus I have gained nearly 15 lbs. This is due in part to the delicious food that friends and neighbors have brought plus the extra bonus that I have Cathie, Trey and Mandy cook'in for me. I feel stronger most days and have less complications from the nausea and swallowing. My dog still doesn't recognize me in a wheelchair but she loves finishing off my cereal each morning anyway. Most sunny days you can find me in the driveway watching the people walking in the neighborhood and visiting with friend who stop by. The prayers offered on my behalf make all the difference. I can get to church now and see so many who have called and written and prayed with and for me. Bill Simpson came by and joked that he wanted me to give him his physical next year. He was great medicine!
Thank you for caring for me and my family
