FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 30

Cathie emailed me this afternoon and asked that I update the Blog. She had attached a couple of pictures and asked that I post them. Cathie's message is as follows: Yesterday we went to a carnaval at the VA and ate hotdogs (Marvin had one without much bread) We listened to music and speakers and more food and games. I shot a duck at the shooting gallery and won some VA bucks for Marvin to use at the cafe. He feels pretty bad today after the CAT scan and high blood pressure has him worried just a little. Dr Thomas doesn't know why for either one but she is trying with a battery fo tests for Monday. No PT today as he is going to have that fun stuff that cleans you out!! Thank you for the cards. They are great as was the visit and shirts. He has worn them with pride. God Bless you our friends Cathie

Marvin and Cathie,
The photos are greatly appreciated and I hope you are getting through the weekend okay. Loved the story about God and the apples and the cookies, but it seems the Good Lord is around every corner watching out for you, picking all of us up whenever you have a setback, or maybe we all just exert a lot more effort in the prayer department. Whatever it takes, we are pulling for you,
with love and hope,
Phillis

Hi Marvin!
Greetings from Sheryl and Rachel. We're here at the church and talked with Cathie at dinner. Nancy Andrews and I are in the library giving lessons on responding to the blog. You look great in the pictures. We miss you so much and continually lift you in prayer. Blessings, Sheryl

Sheryl is teaching me also, Dannie Manning, you know the one who took the cookie jar for Wilma Cantey, the first week she come to HVPC - anyway, now I know who to do this. Spoke with Cathie also today at consecration dinner. We were all so glad to see her and hear about you - we were surprised by how many people can't blog - like me, for instance! We will try to bring some more "into the blog fold". Your picture is just great and I hope every day is a blessing to you and you feel our prayers. Dannie Manning

Dear Marvin, (from Mary Elizabeth)
Billy is still hoarse from cheering his team to win on Saturday. But, He is happy.
I want you and Cathie to consider reflexology.(foot massage to trigger pressure points in the body). There are nerves to your nausea zone that can be calmed without additional medication. All this can be done by rubbing the bottom of your feet on the correct points. I have personally had success bringing your mother around when she has small strokes.
