Saturday night at the VA

Once again I want to thank each of you for the wonderful cards and thoughtful prayers. I read each blog message and they help me stay in a positive mode which is so important for my recovery. I strive for improvemenmt as to the lack of appetite and continued nausea. With God's help I remain determined to lick this problem. Sometimes it is difficult to remain positive but your prayers keep me on tract. sometimes just being able to feed myself seems like the most wonderful thing in the world. Perhaps God will used this nausea to show His power as none of the doctors have been able to help. We hope to try acupunture.
As yet I can't make phone calls from here or even use the computer. When Cathie is here I can get calls on her phone. Yesterday they tried once more to fix my phone so that I could use the blow pipe to answer. We'll see if it works now. I plan to return home around Nov 21 if the doctors approve. The plans to renovate the house would help me have a roll-in shower and bed down stairs until I am able to walk. I believe that day will come but somedays it is harder to believe than others.
Today I have been without nausea!! Cathie juiced some apples and made a yogurt smoothy. Tasted great.

You lift us up with prayer,
Marvin & Cathie

It's always wonderful to read a blog from you Marvin! Sounds like your positive attitude is in place. It makes a huge difference. The apples have been delicious this year, so I am sure you enjoyed the smoothie. Keep up the hard work. Hope to see you back in Charleston soon!

Love,
Deborah

Dear Cathie and Marvin, 10/31 5pm
Greetings from Rachel and Sheryl.
What's your costume tonight Marvin?
For sure there will be candy and festivities at the hospital. Instead of being at home giving out treats I'm at school starting a new NT class. Sat. will be the next to last workshop for the elective OT class. What a joy to teach God's Word and allow it to do a work in lives. Again Mom will be thrilled to read your update. We continually lift you in prayer and trust the Lord to carry you through. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Sheryl

Dear Bubba:
This is just a short note to remind you that the Miami-Virginia Tech game is Saturday night at 7:45 at Blacksburg, Va. on ESPN TV. ESPN is having their National Gameday festivities there starting at 12:00 noon. This is something that ESPN has at what they think is the country's biggest game that day. Virginia Tech is ranked # 3 in the country (Miami is # 5) and some think that Virginia Tech may be the best team in the country. It will be a tough game, no question.
Love, Billy
