Sunday Update

As you may know Marivn has be assited by a feeding tube becuase they had found that he was asparting food particulates (breathing his food :)

When I talked to him, he said he had no complaints about what he was eating here at the hospital, and has in fact gained 7 lbs.

No surprise the Shepherds is much less frightening than the ICU, which was the most difficult time for Marvin and everyone around him. Here it is aparent that were on a direct path to recovery and health.

Marvin was able to go outside yesterday, which would have lasted longer if ti had not been during this heat wave.

Please pray for his breathing, swallowing and movement in his hands.

Dear Cathie and Marvin,
I am sorry I missed your call yesterday, Cathie--it was wonderful to hear your voice. Did you call from Atlanta? We just got back from church this morning and heard a wonderful message about the kingdom of God. It is here, and can be found if you only look for it. It is within and around us. The limitations that we perceive about ourselves are swept away by the love of God, and by the love of those around us that
God has sent.
That message spoke to me, and I prayed for you, Marvin. That God would fill you with the knowledge that you are a wonderful person, and child of His Kingdom.
Love you!!
Happy

MARVIN, WE WERE SO GLAD TO SEE THAT YOU HAVE GAINED BACK SOME OF YOUR WEIGHT. KEEP YOUR SPIRITS UP AND KNOW THAT WE ARE ALL THINKING OF YOU AND PRAYING FOR YOU.
CATHIE, I'M WEARING MY RED HAT ON A REGULAR BASIS, ABOUT ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH, TO CHURCH IN HONOR OF MARVIN AND YOU. I HOPE YOU HAVE YOURS WITH YOU AND CAN WEAR IT ON SUNDAYS, TOO.

Dear Cathie and Marvin,
This is the first I have heard about what you all have been going through. I still don't know what happened or when, but I want you to know I am thinking of you and your family and keeping you in my prayers.

Hi Cathie and Marvin! 7/25/05 5:30p
Monday greeting from Rachel and Sheryl even if this comment will show up on Sunday's. A friend read this report to us over the phone yesterday. We rejoice with you and entrust you continually to the Lord's grace and care. The joy of the Lord is our only strength.
Tonight I'll be teaching Basic Christian Beliefs and enjoying four oral presentations from students. The first one will be "Scripture's Position on Jesus,Person of the Trinity." This cohort has very little theological background even if
all have just been through NT class and some have church background.
Were you able to attend a service yesterday at Shepherd? We trust you're having a good Monday even if
your therapy sessions sound strenuous. Tomorrow night I'll log on again as I return to teach graduate ethics.
Blessings, Sheryl
