Marvin and Cathie,
I am in Edinburgh, Scotland and lit a candle for you at St. Giles Cathedral Aug. 4. I prayed really hard and will send you a picture when I return. Today Wed. I lit another at an abbey out of town. I am reading you blog from an old castle where we are staying in the e-mail room in the basement. Lovingly, Sannie

So glad you have another week! Not too much happening in our neck of the woods. Katie comes down every once in a while for a treat. Tradd and Sarah are enjoying setting up their own home. They bought a car last weekend (Sears Sauls helped them a lot) to replace her 1991 Toyota which she sold to her brother. Sarah had her exam today, so she is finished with summer school. By taking that class, she will be able to graduate from C of C next May. We haven't seen Austin, Dawn and Aubrey since July 4th, but all seems well in Virginia. They are having a house built and the lot was cleared last week. They are very excited the process has started. I sure hope they have better luck than we did when we built our house! The weather has gotten a little cooler, THANK GOODNESS. We are enjoying the pictures - keep up the good work. Lots of love and prayers, Brian & Saradell

Marvin,
We pray for you every day. We are encouraged by your progress and love all the pictures since we are not able to be with you. I just wish we could have some time with you and hopefully when you get back home, we can come see you. I've enjoyed our recent conversations when we have caught Trey at home and know that he and Mandy are a good support system for the both of you. I know you are very proud of them both. You have been such good parents and it really shows.
Ed, Grady and I leave Tuesday to take Grady out to Colo State Univ where he and Ashley will spend next year (with a little luck that is!). He is very nervous about going away and will miss his friends here tremendously. I really wish we could go back and have raised all our children here - the atmosphere is so different...but then life is full of things we could have/ would have/ should have done! Edwin is making progress, although very slowly and he is dealing with many emotional and health issues.
The weather up here is hot this summer. We have had a busy summer and have enjoyed the Maine wilderness as much as time allows. If there is anything we can do, please do not hesitate to ask. Keep the news coming. You know how proud we are to call you family and we love you both dearly. All our best - Carol and Ed.

Great news about CIGNA. Do you have hopes that they will extend Marvin's stay any longer? It would be so beneficial to continue where he is, with medical personnel who know his condition, what progress he has made, and what his chances for full recovery are. We will pray that they see the light and continue coverage where he is.
Keep your spirits up and God will surely bless you.

Hi Cathie and Marvin, 8/11/05 7pm

Greeting from Rachel and Sheryl. While my NT students are taking an exam I'm catching up on your news. I printed out the pages for Mom since the phone isn't close to this computer. She will be thrilled with the updates and photos. Bless the Lord for daily increments of improvement. The ups and downs are to be expected in such a challenge the Lord is allowing in your lives. Underneath us are the everlasting arms of security. No matter the circumstance, we are the Lord's. Blessings, Sheryl

Dear Cathie & Marvin...No, I haven't fallen-off the face of the earth. I guess I am just plain "computer challanged" as I've attempted several times to send you a comment, and only after Happy called me back with some tips did I finally get to this screen. I have been keeping up with your news on the blog each time we come home. It has been so wonderful to see and hear how much progress you have made, and I'm so happy that you have another week at Shepherd. Hopefully, you will even get another, and another, as I feel it has been a great rehab hospital. We think of ya'll each day and pray for each of you as you deal with the many issues. I know it has been wonderful support to have each of the family involved. We closed on the house at the lake last week, so will have a lot to share with you. We miss you! I will close with one of Mama's favorite scripture passages (& she had many)"So do not fear...do not be dismayed,I will strengthen you and help you" Isaiah 41:10. Love, Brenda & Fynn
