With hope in the New Year

Trey,Laura Amanda and I spent Christmas with Marvin in Augusta. With the help of the speaker phone we celebrated with my nephew Sandy and his wife Maryanne. They kept us laughting as Sandy sang off-key caroles and did impersonations. We traded a few gifts and were thankful for the best gift-that Marvin was with us- and got him to eat more than he had in weeks. Today he is still getting better and who knows...he may come home in a few weeks. We can't begin to tell you how much you have meant to us this season of Christ's birth. The calls, the hugs in church and the cards and cookies all are evidence of your love and support for Marvin and he is beginning to feel that it is possible to get back some of himself. He has felt so lost and tired with the constant nausea, life threatening complications, distance from home and loved ones. To believe that he can overcome the setbacks is quite a step. I have no word on when he can get off antibiotics and feeding tubes but if the nausea stays calm he can hope.
Christmas has been so different for us but the love of family and friends has made the message strong..Christmas is about that love and sharing of our lives and hope with others.
May God be with you in the New Year,
Cathie
