Still in Augusta

Marvin wants to thank all of you for keeping him in your prayers. He is struggling still with the nausea and bleeding from the site of his surgery. The constant nausea has taken a toll on his attitude and he isn't certain it is worth the fight to keep going. I have the same talk with God each night to give him hope and calm his queasiness and each day hear of his struggle. I leave Chas for Augusta tomorrow to see what I can do ask for meds for the depression and stomach distress. He has been told that his digestion has been partically paralyzed but he was so much better at home. We ask for healing with his digestion and thus an end to the nausea that has kept him so low. I want so much to send good news. He needs it so badly. Thank you Brian and Saradell Dantzler for the visit! He sounded so much better after seeing you. Not all is dark for there have been mornings after the prayer group has offered his name to God that the nausea has calmed for hrs.
I plan to dress him abit for halloween as we did last year amd get him up in his chair. As before we plan to give out sweets instead of get them! Hosp. staff loves this.
Thank you for your love and concern for us. I know we will come thru this soon and pray that we can get his strength back up so that he can again drive his chair.
Gpd Bless
Cathie

It's easier to give suggestions than for the person those suggestions are being said to to do follow them but here are some thoughts:
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change (that's everything beyond your nose), the courage to change the things I can (your attitudes and perspectives) and the wisdom to know the difference. Also, trying to remind yourself of all the blessings you have and making a list of the things you are grateful for might help you feel the fight is still worth it; at the very least making that list might keep your mind distracted from the nausea. Feel better (mentally and physically).

This is just a quick note, that there are those of us who may not really know you, but read the blogs, and pray that you might feel and get better.I am a member of HVPC and have tried to keep up with your progress and the struggles that you go through..My son, Daniel, suffered a closed head injury at the age of 2 1/2 yrs..that was complicated by a stroke..he will be 21 in about 2 weeks and is truly the joy of my life..along with his sister, of course!! Those first years afterwards were tough, but Daniel persevered and so did we..granted, there are some things that he was too young to remember..but we have the pictures..and the memories..he still, of course has the residual effects of the stroke..but he, like us, thanks God for whom the young man he is..and will be..I realize that his story and circumstances are differant..but through God,prayer, family and friends(even those we don't know)all things are possible!..Please do not give up hope!!..You have a wonderful wife and family..and friends who are there for you..just as God is!!
Take care..and please understand, that what I have written is out of love..not being critical..we all have our days..our months..just rest in HIS loving arms..and keep on, keeping on!
